1st Day CAPE TOWN
Upon arrival in Cape Town, you will be welcomed by the Italian guide who will accompany you to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to take an introductory tour of the city and, weather permitting, you may ascend Table Mountain (which is officially one of the seven wonders of the world). From the top, you can enjoy the spectacular panorama of the city and Table Bay, the bay embracing Cape Town.
Hotel: RADISSON WATERFRONT HOTEL 5*****
Room type: Standard Double – Meal plan: Breakfast

2nd Day CAPE TOWN -- Cape Point Excursion
After breakfast, you will meet with the Italian guide in the reception area and depart for the excursion to the Cape of Good Hope Peninsula, with incredibly scenic landscapes! During the excursion, you will have the opportunity to visit Hout Bay, Seal Island (the island of seals), Cape Point (the southernmost tip of Africa, where the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean ideally meet), the charming "Jack Ass" penguin colony at Boulders Beach, and the magnificent Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

3rd Day CAPE TOWN -- (activity to be decided)
The guide will be at your disposal throughout the day to accompany you during the chosen activity.
OPTION 1:
You can visit the picturesque and romantic Cape Winelands valleys of the Western Cape province, which are reachable in less than an hour from Cape Town by car. In addition to visiting the towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek and admiring the picturesque landscape of green hills and endless vineyards, you will have the opportunity to visit various wineries and taste the excellent locally produced wines, famous worldwide.
OPTION 2:
You can explore the city center and visit the Bo Kaap neighborhood, with its small mosques and buildings dating back to the Dutch occupation period. Nearby is also the South African Museum of Ethnography and Natural History, overlooking the Company Gardens, the first garden built by the Dutch East India Company to supply passing ships with vegetables, now transformed into a beautiful garden with centuries-old trees and squirrels. The Parliament House also overlooks the garden.
OPTION 3:
You could enjoy the fabulous beaches of Cape Town, such as the long white sandy beach of Camps Bay or the 4 Clifton beaches, the most frequented by local residents and tourists.
OPTION 4:
For those not interested in beaches, we recommend visiting Robben Island, the prison island where Nelson Mandela was exiled for 18 years during the Apartheid years. It is now part of South Africa's cultural heritage and is open to the public. Advance booking is required.
OPTION 5:
Between June and October, you might consider a trip to Hermanus, a small town along the coast about 90 minutes from Cape Town. Hermanus is considered the world capital for Southern Right whale watching, as they approach the South African coast during this time of year. The boat excursion should be booked in advance and costs Rand 1,100 per person.
4th Day from CAPE TOWN to the PRIVATE RESERVE
After breakfast, we will head to the airport to catch a direct flight to Hoedspruit. Upon landing, a meeting will be arranged with the ranger at Thornybush Game Reserve, followed by a transfer to the Main Lodge. Thornybush is a private reserve spanning over 10,000 hectares of land, located on the outskirts of the vast Kruger Park. In the afternoon, we will have the pleasure of embarking on our first thrilling safari aboard open 4x4 vehicles, guided by the reserve's expert rangers. The safari will last for over 3 hours, allowing us to explore the rich wildlife and flora of the area. The return to the lodge is scheduled after sunset.
Accommodation: THORNYBUSH MAIN LODGE 5*****
Room type: Standard Suite – Meal plan: Full board including all safaris
5th Day PRIVATE RESERVE/CONCESSION
Departure at dawn for the first of the 2 safaris scheduled for the day. During the safaris, it is not uncommon to encounter the 'Big Five' (Lions, Leopards, Rhinoceroses, Elephants, and Buffaloes), the large African mammals considered by old hunters to be among the most challenging animals to hunt on foot. The 4x4 vehicles provided to the rangers allow for approaching both large and small animals to appreciate them up close in their natural environment within a context of great natural beauty.

6th Day PRIVATE RESERVE/CONCESSION & MPUMALANGA
After the morning safari and breakfast, transfer to Hoedspruit airport, where you'll pick up the reserved car at the AVIS office and head towards White River, passing through the Blyde River Canyon. The vast plateau upon which Johannesburg rests plunges here, along the eastern escarpments of the Drakensberg mountain range, for over 1000 meters, into green gorges and canyons. A breathtaking scene dominated by the imposing rock formations of the Three Rondavels. Stop at God's Window to once again admire the fantastic panorama of the Blyde River Canyon before continuing to the town of White River, where Oliver's Lodge is located.
Hotel: OLIVER'S LODGE 4****
Room type: Standard Double – Overnight stays include: Breakfast

7th Day MPUMALANGA/WHITE RIVER
You will have a full day to explore this part of the Mpumalanga region, where you can find the towns of Sabie, Graskop, and the village of Pilgrim's Rest. This is the area where, just before the discovery of the gold reef on which Johannesburg stands, South Africa experienced its first gold rush. Between 1874 and 1878, over 1500 men extracted alluvial gold here, valued at over £1,500,000!

8th Day MPUMALANGA – JOHANNESBURG
After breakfast, you will head to Nelspruit "KMI Airport," located approximately 70 km from your hotel. You will drop off the car at the AVIS office at the airport and depart for Johannesburg on a South African Airways scheduled flight. Upon arrival in Johannesburg, you will begin your journey back to Italy. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be on board.
